Ramrock Blue Records are proud to present the ethereally soulful outing, ‘Belong’ from Croatian trio, EESKRA. With its delicate vocal delivery from Yannah and Petar and Ilija’s brilliant arrangement, the project immediately caught the A&R ears of Jo Wallace at Ramrock Records, and she deemed it to be ‘summer soul’ of the highest order. The North Street West production has taken all those sunshine elements and underpins them with a nod to the halcyon days of 80’s boogie and purveyors of that genre like Loose Ends, S.O.S Band and Cool Notes.

During 2021, Petar Dundov and Ilija Rudman, who’d worked together for 15 years, and their close musical partner, Yannah joined forces and after one night in the studio, EESKRA was born. Ilija says, ‘There was an instant feeling that we had created something very special. Yannah was our natural choice for the vocalist on this project. The resulting tracks are without any borders, but you can clearly hear our own musical signature’.

Ilija Rudman has been a leading force on the international underground disco/house scene for the past 20 years, both as a producer and a DJ who embraces the more eclectic selections whilst sharing his love for pure analogue sound without compromise. With over 100 EPs and 6 LPs to his name on labels like IRMA, Azuli, Soul Clap Records and Rong Music, Ilija’s ‘sound’ like a blast from the Prelude, West End or Salsoul catalogues and his collaborations have led him to work with luminaries such as Greg Wilson, Faze Action, Chaz Jankel, Leroy Burgess, The Brand New Heavies, Fred Everything and Ron Trent.

Like so many others, this came like a bolt out of the blue and, even though it's well before payday, I had to have this astonishing album on vinyl to prove it exists. The feel of the tunes makes me feel like the Impressions do, Curtis Mayfield, the big spaces and instinctive horns and stuff drifting in and out. Great grooves and I can see lots of ghosts nodding along to this with big smiles on their faces. At last! Anthony Cottrell
