Ramrock Blue Records are delighted to present the Ashley Beedle North Street Remix EP of soul legend Frederick’s Rare Groove classic ‘Games’, the follow up to Frederick’s highly acclaimed love ballad ‘I Can’t Help But Love You’. Released in Summer 2017, it gained much attention on the UK Soul Charts and major radio stations across Europe and UK.

‘Games’ has been reworked by Frederick, after the master tapes were found to be corroded. Sticking faithfully to the original arrangement, the 2017 Rework retains the mysterious, soulful flavour of the 1985 release with Frederick’s voice soaring above the groove – sounding as emotive today as they did back in the day. ‘Games’ 2017 ReWork has already been championed by Jeff Young/Jazz FM & Tony Blackburn/BBC Radio 2 to name but a few.

Ashley Beedle and the North Street Crew – Darren Morris & Jo Wallace – take the ‘2017 Rework’ and run with it, giving it the North Street treatment, adding lush strings, extra keyboards and underpinning it with a tough bass line and at the same time, reinforcing the melancholic chords and showcasing Frederick’s sublime vocals. The result is, quite simply, beautiful.
